Blackheath / Blue Mountains
We arrived into Blackheath and realized we had been here before one afternoon with John and Bev. We found the absolute very best iced coffee on the planet so that made us very happy :-) We settled in at camp and then decided to do a quick 'leftovers' dinner and then head out for a hike in the cooler evening temperature. We did a hike from Govett's Leap towards Pulpit Rock but decided to turn back as it was getting abit late - that being said we still managed 47 floors and 9000 steps ! Govett must have been crazy to 'leap' from here :-PToday we headed out early and did our hike from Govett's Leap to Evans Lookout. It was a 5+ km return and logged as almost 90 floors ! We managed to find a shady-ish place to eat our lunch by a small stream. Yikes it was hot but incredibly beautiful views. The Blue Mountains really do look very blue which is like nothing we've seen at home. Back to camp for a swim and refresh shower and then we went over to Pulpit Rock for some more great photos - again NOBODY around for the pics - unbelievable, where is everyone ? After that we went to the very popular 'Three Sisters' and found EVERYONE, literally ! Wow, it was insanely busy there and our assessment was that while it is a unique formation and pretty cool to see... we actually think the wider views near our camp were more interesting. So... Yay, another gamble on where to camp has paid off. All that being said, the wine and beer was very good and much needed at The Sisters. :-P Now we are back at camp for some uploading and then going out to dinner and maybe find a nice sunset spot for wine and cheese later. Tomorrow is a travel day as we head to Duffy and Bev before flying to New Zealand the next day.
